» 泉の記憶 »

私はラ・コンキスタの作品の展示場所に中庭を選んだ。

マンゴーの木のある中庭には、枯れた人工の泉があった。
そこには猿の彫刻があり、その彫刻を見ていると「まだそこに居るの？泉
はもう使われていないのに」と問いかけたくなった。
そして、それはまるで、自分の置かれている状況を把握出来ず、物事を深く考えず、本当は何が大事なのか分からずに大切な物を失っている、そんな人の象徴
の様に見えてきた。

水を失った泉、かつてあった水の記憶。それは家の記憶、この町の、この国の記
憶へと繋がっていく、そんなイメージが私の中で湧き上がっていった。
私はそんな泉の記憶を作品（水玉）により辿っていった。
水玉は、一つ一つ周りの風景を映し出す。そして水玉を通して世界を見るとき、それは歪んでいる、あたかも一人一人の目の様に。そしてまた、一つ一つ違う
記憶をも映し出す。子どもの頃の記憶、遠い昔の記憶。
そして水玉は、あたかも庭を占領していくかの様に広がっていく。

I chose the patio as the exhibition place of the work for «Exposicion
La Conquista».

There was the artificial exhausted fountain in the patio which has a
mango tree.
The sculpture of the monkey is looking in the empty waterhole. I wanted
to ask to the sculpture; «Are you still here? This is not used
anymore.». It was seen like the symbol of such a person who cannot
understand his situation and lost an important thing injudiciously.

The fountain which lost water. The memory of the water which there was
ever. Those image led me up to the memory of the house, the memory of
this town, the memory of this country.
I followed such the memories of fountain by my art work (waterdrop).

The waterdrop reflects surrounding scenery one by one. And it is
distorted (like each person’s eyes) when we look at the world through a
waterdrop. Also those reflects each memory one by one. The memory in
the days of the child. The memory of ancient times.

The waterdrop spreads, and occupies the patio.
