Zukunasisters se forma en 2002 cuando los 4 miembros originales de la banda se conocieron en el club de música de la universidad. Desde ese entonces la banda ha recibido un gran apoyo de diversos músicos, ingenieros de audio y organizadores de eventos, tocando en vivo incansablemente en clubes nocturnos, festivales musicales y eventos locales en todo Japón

Las zukunasisters han aparecido en numerosos festivales japoneses de música incluyendo el FUJI ROCK FESTIVAL (2006,2009,2014), SUNSET LIVE (2006,2014), ARABAKI ROCK FESTIVAL (2009), WINDBLOW (2012,2014), DIA DE LA TIERRA TOKYO (2009).

Lo eventos en vivo bajo el nombre de «SOULBOOK» organizados por la propia banda han ganado gran popularidad entre sus compañeros músicos independientemente de su edad e influencias musicales.

En 2007 fundaron su propio sello «ZUKU74RECORDS», y lanzaron su primer álbum completo «SOKONASHI» el año siguiente. En julio de 2010, la banda lanzó su segundo álbum de estudio «FOR YOU»  El cual fue completamente grabado en el sótano de los padres de una de las integrantes. Grabado en el estudio de sótano en donde la banda tuvo incontables ensayos, el disco FOR YOU, lleno del sonido puro de la banda se ha convertido en importante parteaguas para las ZUKUNASISTERS como banda de soul.

En 2011 las cuatro chicas completamente preparadas para su tour por Estados Unidos, decidieron autonombrarse ZUKUNASISTERS para identificarse en el mercado extranjero, dejando el nombre ZUKUNASI exclusivamente para el mercado japonés

Luego en marzo de 2011, la funda formó arre del tour «SXSW’s JAPAN NITE TOUR, presentado 10 shows en siente ciudades alrededor del país. Esto fue justamente después del devastador terremoto y Tsunami que golpeó la región de. TOHOKU en Japón. Las indescriptibles emociones de las chicas expresadas a través de sus presentaciones y canciones japonesas conmovieron a la audiencia más allá de las diferencias culturales y de lenguaje. Luego de regresar del tour por Estados Unidos, la banda regreso al estudio para grabar el sencillo» WE SING ONE VOICE«- la canción que presentaron y atesoraron durante el año previo. Fue lanzados como un disco sencillo y EP en otoño de 2012 através de ZUKU74RECORDS

El 17 de julio lanzaron su muy anticipado tercer álbum de estudio «SING». comenzando en el SOULBOOK 2014. EL tour SING , y que cubrió más de 50 «tocadas» (gigs) atraves de la nación, terminó en el QUATTRO DE Shibuya el 11 de Noviembre de 2013 en Tokyo. El show QUATTRO fue la primera presentación completa para añadir otro parteaguas en la carrera de estas chicas. La tecladista 238 dejo la banda previo al lanzamiento del DVD «SING tour» en Abril de 2014.

En Octubre de 2015 lanzaron el álbum » SANNIN «. Y la banda realizó 4 shows en México . En July 2015, en coordinación con Producciones Manos Libres y con el apoyo de SRE, Secretaria de Cultura del estado de Yucatan, FICMAYA y Ecomusic studio, Se realizo el » MARIA MOCTEZUMA & ZUKUNASI JAPAN TOUR 2015″ Se realizaron 18 shows en colaboración.

Después de eso Lanzaron larga álbum de larga duración » Tadaima » . Creer en el poder de la música , ZUKUNASISTERS mantiene en la creación de melodías convincentes y grandes golpes . Verdadera música del alma y el poder de las mujeres en su mejor momento , sin embargo, ZUKUNASISTERS está destinada a ser una figura central en la escena musical de la nueva década

ZUKUNASISTERS is a truly-one-of-a-kind Japanese female soul band consisting of three amazing performers:
emi, spicy-marico and Akane.

Having been strongly influenced by black music, ZUKUNASISTERS fashions an amalgam of 60’s to 70’s R&B, soul, and gospel.  The band’s unmistakable flavour and dramatic chorus work is indeed the product of members’ undeniable chemistry.  Emi’s singing which is often referred to as Etta James and Tina Turner, and the band’s tireless energy and vibes inflame and thrill the audience – the performance you will never forget.

ZUKUNASISTERS was formed in 2002 when the original four members first met in the music club in university.  Since then, the band has been receiving tremendous supports from numerous musicians, recording engineers and event organisers, and it has been tirelessly playing live shows in night clubs, music festivals and local events throughout Japan.

ZUKUNASISTERS has appeared in a number of Japanese music festivals including FUJI ROCK FESTIVAL (2006, 2009, 2014), SUNSET LIVE (2006, 2014), ARABAKI ROCK FESTIVAL (2009), WINDBLOW (2012, 2014), EARTHDAY TOKYO (2009).

The band’s self-organised live events “SOULBOOK” have won great popularity among fellow musicians regardless of age and musical background.

In 2007 ZUKUNASISTERS found a self-label “ZUKU74RECORDS”, and released the band’s first full length album “SOKONASHI” the following year.  In July 2010, released was the band’s second studio album “FOR YOU”, which was entirely recorded in the basement of the member’s parent’s house.  Recorded in the basement studio where the band had countless rehearsals, FOR YOU filled with the band’s raw sound, has become a significant milestone for ZUKUNASISTERS as soul band.

In 2011 the four girls fully prepared for the upcoming US tour, decided on calling themselves ZUKUNASISTERS to identify themselves in overseas markets, while keeping “ZUKUNASI” strictly for the Japanese market.

And then in March 2011, the band partook in the SXSW’s JAPAN NITE US tour, and performed 10 shows in seven cities throughout the country.  It was right after the devastating earthquake and tsunami struck the Tohoku region in Japan.  The girls’ indescribable emotions expressed through their performance and Japanese songs touched and moved the audience beyond the cultural and language differences.

After returning from the US tour, the band went back into the studio to record a single “WE SING ONE VOICE” – the song they performed and treasured throughout the prior year.  It was released as single CD and EP in autumn 2012 from ZUKU74RECORDS.

On July 17, 2013 released was the much-anticipated third studio album “SING”.  Starting from SOULBOOK 2014, the SING tour which covered over 50 gigs throughout the nation, ended at the Shibuya QUATTRO on November 11, 2013 in Tokyo.  The QUATTRO show was the band’s first full performance to add yet another milestone in the girls’ career.  The keyboardist 238 exited the group prior to the release of the SING tour DVD in April, 2014.

On October 1, 2015  the three girls released  short length album “SANNIN”.  And the band performed  4 shows in Mexico.

July.2015 They invited Maria Moctezuma Band from Merida,Mexico.And  They performed 18 shows together in «ZUKUNASI&MARIA JAPAN TOUR 2015». After that They released  long length album “Tadaima”.

Believing in the power of music, ZUKUNASISTERS keeps on creating compelling melodies and great beats.  Real soul music & women’s power at its best yet, ZUKUNASISTERS is bound to be a central figure in the music scene of the new decade.
